Meriel

Meriel has been blessed to grow up with two highly creative parents (Nick and Charmian!) Ever since she was a little girl, she loved coming into the jewellery workshop to oggle over the stones and materials and to watch her mum at work. As a child she practised making jewellery with her mum as a teacher and she used silver, brass and copper for her creations. After going to university in London to study Social Anthropology, she moved back to Devon and began working for the jewellery business while she was pregnant with her son Louis and while he was small. At first, she just produced metal beads and components but then she moved on to producing more complex whole items.

After a long break where she trained to became a yoga teacher and then a primary school teacher, she eventually found her way back to the jewellery bench. She now has her own workshop, at her house in Bude and travels at least once a fortnight to work with and to discuss ideas with her parents in Torrington.
